Things that I like:
Movies:
- The films of Don Hertzfeldt (The scene in it's such a beautiful day where, spoilers, Bill starts to see everything in live action genuenly helped me see the beauty in the world and I don't know how to feel about that)
- Everything Everywhere All at Once
- Princess Mononoke (My favorite Ghibli movie. One of the only great movies with an environmentalist message. Totoro is a close second as that was the first Ghibli film that I had ever seen so it has some sentimental value)
TV Shows
- Neon Genesis Evangelion (I will FIGHT anyone who says that the last two episodes are bad. Those episodes sparked a process of self-reflection and discovery that I can directly link with an improvement in my life. I will admit that if you don't relate to the characters then the experience probably wont be the same.)
- Twin Peaks (R.I.P Angelo Badalamenti)
- Avatar: The Last Airbender
- Chainsaw man (The manga as well)
Music
- The Beatles (The first album I ever listened to was Abbey Road. Also, Yellow Submarine was a movie that my parents showed me a lot for some reason)
- Daft Punk (Discovery was my introduction to Electronic music, a genre that I love dearly to this day)
- Sufjan Stevens
- King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
- Pink Floyd
- Kishi Bashi (great musician from Athens, Georgia.)
- Radiohead
- Queen
- Jack Stauber
- Parannoul
Games
- Ultrakill (one of the best first person shooters ever and it's still in early access. if you haven't played it yet play it.)
- Undertale / Deltarune
- Hades (fantastic action game. Also I probably should've realized that I was bi when I found all of the characters hot.)
- Omori
And, as a bonus, Things I don't like that a lot of people seem to like
- Death Grips (way too agressive and weirdly creepy for me. I do like JPEGMAFIA though)
- Homestuck (I only made it halfway through and stopped at the end of act 5. I did like parts of it: the music was good, cascade was cool, the fact that at least 2 characters are canonically in-universe furries is pretty funny, the mix of flash animation, game, book, and comic was interesting, and the line "I'm sorry, I gave your universe cancer" is raw as fuck, but I just found the whole thing way too long and kind of convoluted. It was an interesting time, but I never want to revisit it)
- A Game of Thrones, the book (WAY too long. probably kills as a tv show, but the plot is too thinly spread out, especially on a re-read when you already know the twists).
under construction permanently. My tastes in media are always changing. also i need to learn some more css so that this site doesn't look like a "graphic design is my passion" meme.
